The Locomotive

The Berkshire is a proper LionChief-tier engine with Bluetooth control via the free LionChief app, RailSounds (whistle, bell, three "Believe" and "Hero Boy" sound clips from the film), and a smoke unit that takes standard Lionel fluid. The die-cast body has correctly proportioned running gear and driver spacing for the 2-8-4 prototype. Slow-speed operation is smooth; top-end is realistic for a passenger consist.

The Cars

The three passenger cars are the reason the set is a hit. Each one includes factory interior lighting (warm LED silhouettes through the windows), operating knuckle couplers, and full Polar Express graphics. What to Consider Instead
