Lionel Ready-to-Run NYC Set Review

The Lionel NYC Ready-to-Run set is a solid intermediate starter. New York Central graphite paint on the locomotive looks great, and the included freight cars — boxcar, gondola, and caboose — are properly branded. The oval track is generous enough for satisfying operation right out of the box. Speed control is smooth and the motor runs quietly. Not as feature-rich as full Legacy sets, but for someone wanting New York Central character at a modest investment this is a dependable, well-rounded choice.
