Lionel Legacy CSX C40-8W Review

The Legacy CSX C40-8W is a workhorse locomotive that earns its place on any modern freight layout. CSX's dark gray scheme with yellow nose is cleanly applied over fine die-cast shell, and the Legacy sound deck packs GE prime mover notch sounds, dynamic brakes, and realistic radio chatter. It hauls long freight consists smoothly and pickup is reliable even through switches. The cab interior detail is a nice touch visible through the clear windows. A dependable, well-executed modern diesel at a fair price.
