Lionel Legacy BNSF ES44AC Review

The Legacy BNSF ES44AC is a modern freight powerhouse. The Heritage paint — orange cab with BNSF swoosh — is sharply printed over detailed die-cast, and the Legacy electronics provide authentic GE prime mover sounds through the full notch range. Tractive effort is impressive; this locomotive handles twelve-car freight trains without hesitation. The illuminated number boards and ditch lights operate correctly. A couple of minor mold lines on the fuel tank are the only quibble. Overall a highly satisfying modern diesel that earns every bit of its price.
