The NYC J-3a Hudson is arguably the most beautiful American steam locomotive design of the 20th century, and Lionel's Vision Line version does it full justice. The two-tone gray Dreyfuss shrouding is rendered in exquisite detail, with every streamlined curve faithfully reproduced. Proto-smoke rises with uncanny realism, and the Legacy command system allows precise speed control and stunning sound effects including a haunting whistle that echoes the real locomotive. Running this Hudson through a scale passenger consist is one of the most satisfying experiences in O-gauge railroading. It is, without question, a masterpiece of the craft.
